RENEE SEGAL

MA, LMFT

Not accepting new clients at this time Owner of Evolve Therapy Clinical Director Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist and Supervisor

I consider it an honor and privilege to do the work I do. My role is to empower you, inspire hope, and restore love and respect in your relationship and for yourself.

I understand that for many clients, this is a big step. It requires vulnerability, honesty, trust, and a willingness to be open to something that may be out of your comfort zone. It takes courage to ask for help especially when you are hurting. And this is the first step in evolving to a more positive place for you and for your relationship.

I have clinical interests in attachment science, bonding, the mind-body connection and the developmental aspects of trauma as they relate to healing and the therapeutic process.

In our work together, I will get to know a lot about you. It’s only fair that you learn about me before we start our work together.

I have been married for 33 years and have two adult children. I know personally both the joys and the challenges that married life can bring. I have been a yoga teacher since 2006, and I practice yoga and meditate daily to keep me grounded and fully present throughout the day. I am a runner and have completed two marathons and several half marathons and I love biking, swimming, lifting weights and doing high intensity workouts. When I am not working or working out, I am usually found outside, I love coffee and dark chocolate. I also love to read and watch movies, I often reference movies and books during my sessions, although it is never a requirement for therapy.

My greatest joy is helping couples heal and restore the love, respect and connection between them. I am often told by my clients that I help them feel more bonded to one another and more at ease with themselves throughout the therapy process. My clients also tell me that I am warm, direct and clear. I am not a therapist that “just sits there”, I am active during the sessions.

EDUCATION:

I have a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Business. I worked as an accountant and then as a securities broker and was always more interested in people problems rather than dealing with numbers. I returned to school and earned my master’s degree in clinical counseling in marriage and family therapy at the Adler Graduate School and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
