VICTORIA WOODMAN

Marriage and Family Therapy Intern

I believe that every human deserves love, companionship, and trust in their lives. I am passionate about creating a safe space to explore you and your relationships. There will, no doubt, be some challenges along the way, but that is what makes us all card carrying members of the human race. At times we lack the deep connection we desire, find communication impossible, or feel downright lonely and confused.

Through an Emotionally Focused Therapy approach we will be able to work towards awareness, acceptance, and regulation of the emotions that are causing harm in your everyday life. It is my goal that by the end of your time with me, we will see an improvement in your sense of security, protection, and comfort within your relationships and that we are able to create a positive space for you and your partner(s) to grow both in therapy and at home.

A little about me:

I am a married queer individual with loads of experience with complex human emotions. I grew up in an intricate family that pushed me into growing up a bit more quickly than expected of people my age. I developed a knack for helping others while also learning to understand myself and evolve. Over time, I discovered how to maintain healthy relationships and insert boundaries where they were needed.

My colleagues and friends describe me as easy to talk to, empathetic, trustworthy and kind. I hold these values close to my heart and will navigate my therapeutic relationships with the same energy that I give my friends, family, and colleagues alike.

On a personal note, I have a small family consisting of my wife and my dog, Remi. We love to be outdoors and host our friends and family. If there is a boat in sight, I want to be on that boat! The sounds of the water and music playing in the background are my happy place. When not envisioning boat time, I can be found cooking new recipes and cooking up future travel plans. I look forward to our journey together and the positive change we will be making as a team.

EDUCATION:

I will graduate with my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Wisconsin - Stout (Spring 2025) and am completing the coursework for a certificate in Sex Therapy.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Management from the University of Wisconsin - River Falls. This degree led me to several opportunities in the River Falls School District where I was grateful to have made a meaningful impact on the students’ lives. These experiences have opened my eyes to how I can make positive contributions to the people around me on a more personal level.
